SAPPHO is an emotional support group of lesbian and bisexual women of India with the focus area on
Calcutta. In India, the scenario is very much hostile against lesbian and bisexuals. These women
are trying hard to gain a position. "We dont know if we will be able to see the removal of the law
which is set against homosexuality in our penal code but we started the fire which we intend to
keep on burning."
