Dear Secretary Duncan,  Thank you for celebrating Gay-Straight Alliance Day today.  I appreciate and trust your sincerity in stopping bullying of all people in our nation's schools.  I respectfully submit, however, that your sincerity fails to come through in your video.  I'm sure you're busy and again, I mean no disrespect, but I think it might be best if you find a way to improve on your delivery.   Thank you!

Anniversary of Roe -v- Wade!

Today we celebrate reproductive rights in the United States.  I believe a woman's right to control her own body is at the core of world change.  I commit to working hard in 2012 to elect pro-choice candidates in my local area, statewide and nationally.  Reproductive freedom is a cornerstone right and needs to be afforded all women!

Already firmly in a life crisis at 12, things go from bad to worse for Jesse Hawthorne when her emotionally disconnected father moves the family to a rural town, a place whose beauty belies the toxic normality at its core. Jesse is almost immediately bullied by the local mini-mean girls in training, who find Jesse’s tomboy nature both repellent and yet somehow attractive. Her only ally is neighbor Jacob, who has his own demons (including an aggressive paint huffing brother) that he is trying to escape.

Meet Lesbian Voices

“Thank you for creating this website. If my family knew I was a lesbian, they would be obligated by our customs to kill me.” These words were sent to me in a paper letter from a woman in Indonesia almost a decade ago.  As the tears filled my eyes, I decided then to find way for lesbians who feel safe to be able to share stories with those who don’t.

We're happy to announce Lesbian Voices, a space for us to share our voice - a space for lesbians and our allies to share stories of our lives.
