Leadership Roles as a Lesbian

I have been President of the Texas Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association (TOFGA) for the past two years.  I've loved the work and enjoyed the people.  The experience exposed me to folks I wouldn't ordinarily meet even in my role as a farmer.  Some of our members are Republican, some are Democrats and some are to the far right and left.

Just Label Our Food!

Candidate Obama promised to label food containing Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs).  Contact your Senator, U.S. Representative and the President to demand they require the labeling of our food.  We need and deserve to know what we're eating.

Maybe if we knew what's in our cereal, our baby food, our salad dressing .. we'd stop companies like Monsanto from controlling our food supply.  Over 80% of American foods contain GMOs, yet the impact of GMOs is untested and questionable.

Climate Change Talks Underway

Climate change talk are underway this week in Durban.  The United States is still refusing to sign the Kyoto Protocol even as our home planet warms and our weather patterns destabilize.  Women are playing a pivotal role in bringing international attention to this crisis as you'll see in the article Women and Climate Change.

Ahhhhh.... could anything be cuter? Nothing like a pile of chicks sleeping like the babies they are... except human babies rarely get up and run over the rest of them.

somehow both hilarious and ultimately peaceful
