Leading Ladies
Buy this for yourself or as a gift - it's fun! Filled with warm (and wacky) family drama, this fabulous comedy about two sisters (newcomers Shannon Lea Smith and Laurel Vail), their gay best friend (“So You Think You Can Dance” winner Benji Schwimmer), and their overzealous stage mother (legendary ballroom diva Melanie LaPatin) serves up a tale of uplifting gay affirmation — and exceptional choreography! With one sister pregnant and the other coming out of the closet and falling in love (with the adorable Nicole Dionne), the whole family is hustling to stay on top in the wild world of competitive ballroom dance.
With cameos by favorite “So You Think You Can Dance” dancers Katee Shean, Kherington Payne, Courtney Galiano and Sara VonGillern!

Saw it-- quite fun!!
Well worth the view, this one! There are some hugely funny moments, including a few musical movie scenes that are surprising and good to great. And, no, it's not a musical overall, which is a strength in my book. I didn't get the 'big act' i expected but that's alright... i bet they can't really dance as super fabulously as all that.
:-)
I have to say that i was very impressed by the "don't pirate lesbian movies" piece... and i really don't expect to find them at all engaging. Now this one was different~ direct, meaningful and moral without being moralistic and featured a couple fine babes who weren't being "Fine Babes".
Enjoy!
I want to see this--
as part of a party!
It's like this... We watch the movie somewhere with decent floor space (excludes our place), get all motivated and have dance music ready to go, so that we have a 'ball' after the movie. Perhaps private lessons are in order here.
