"Starting Points~ Weekly Writing Prompts for Women..."

My sister just sent me a wonderful book that comes from a great resource. The book is called "Starting Points~ Weekly Writing Prompts for Women with Stories to Tell", by Susan Wittig Albert. For every week of the year, there's a quote or two that is evocative of the focus she describes briefly on the page; you could write on the bottom of the page or use the triggers to begin something longer. Here's a random example-- from October, third week-- quote by Ellen Goodman~ "There's a trick to the Graceful Exit. It begins with the vision to recognize when a job, a life stage, a relationship is over-- and to let go. It means leaving what's over without denying its value." And then you're invited to write about important exits in your life.

The brochure my sister sent with the book describes 'the Story Circle Network' which is located in Austin TX and offers a number of online opportunities and even holds conferences. The brochure opens with a remarkable quote by Marion Woodman~ "Storytelling is at the heart of life. My imagination creates forms that gives shape to otherwise sporadic events in everyday life. Gradually I recognize the meaning of my existence through my myth."

Then there's the website, The Story Circle Network... for women with stories to tell; the link is below. It was started by Susan Wittig Albert, whom you might recognize as the author of "Writing From Life". Thanks much, Debbie, sister mine!
