posting videos
yeah i'm not sure how to improve the process, but when just posting the review of the shondes album and their video that i just put up, it took me a while to realize i had to use the "videos" posting method in order to put up a video... meaning, that the embed code (html) wouldn't work in a regular "stories" posting. good that there is a "preview" function or i wouldn't have realized...
i kinda wish you could post videos from any posting method, or that there wasn't a distinction between methods of posting, i.e. "news," "story," "video," etc. it just seems to make it more complicated than it needs to be. but i get that maybe that's just part of the structure of the site that can't be changed without a huge redesign.
maybe i missed some instructions or a faq somewhere that told me this information?
just sharing my experience, cuz if i had this experience, other probably will too.
videos and other content types
Great feedback! Not sure what to do about the video posting.. I wish we could do it all in one post too. The thing that separating the content types gets us is an easy sort by Video in each category using the tabs.
At one point I had News as a Category but then the News tab didn't present those posts.. argh.
On News and Story, I went back and forth like a hundred times on whether to have news as a separate content type. There's gobs of pros and cons both ways. Then I thought, there's so many organizations that have press releases and they can post them in News themselves. If News gets too full of self promotion, then folks can just click Stories and only see them.. or if they feel like cruizin' the vids, they do that..
I had to make a choice and, after all the anguish.. yeah.. here's what we have. i'll see what i can do to improve the instructions a bit. This feedback is so great ya'll.
